CHANGING LIVES ONE SONG AT A TIME

MEET THE OWNER

Hi! I’m Deanna – vocal coach, piano teacher, musician, singer, keyboardist, band leader, mentor, and someone who is blessed to do what she loves every day.

I’ve been creating music my entire life. The day after graduating with my Bachelor’s Degree from Millikin University, I moved to Nashville, TN, for a singing and performance job. For 13 years, I recorded vocal demos for local songwriters, fronted multiple bands, and worked as a backup vocalist for recording artists—performing for audiences from intimate gatherings to stadium crowds of 70,000.

Since 2004, I’ve partnered with over 2,500 piano and vocal students, ages 5 to ageless, with personalities ranging from “Put me on stage now!” to “I’m learning for my own enjoyment.” My goal is to meet every student where they are—helping them develop skills, explore their favorite styles, and discover the joy of music.

From rock, pop, jazz, and country to contemporary Christian, musical theater, and adult contemporary, my 20+ years of teaching experience and lifetime of performing allow me to share the techniques, style nuances, and performance insights that make music come alive.

Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or advanced student, piano or voice, I’m here to guide you on your musical journey—wherever you want it to go.

What to Expect as My Student

I live by one of my favorite mottos: Leave people better than you found them. Every lesson and every connection reflect this philosophy.

Starting music lessons can feel intimidating. For example, adults may hesitate to invest in themselves, while introverted kids may fear judgment. Singing in front of someone new or playing a piece you didn’t practice enough can feel scary.

But here’s the good news: We’ll do this together.

I believe in progress, not perfection. Over the years, I’ve built strong teacher-student relationships with more than 2,500 students. These bonds are rooted in respect, trust, and positivity. My approach consistently produces growth that lasts.

When you join my studio, expect to feel supported, valued, and encouraged. Mistakes are welcome here—we learn from them and laugh together.

My studio is fun, joyful, and full of life. It’s comfortable, colorful, and personal. You’ll see cards, handmade gifts, and photos from students going back to 2004. Each piece tells a story.

So, let’s dive in. Mistakes are welcome. Growth is guaranteed. And we’ll have fun every step of the way.

3 Yearly Performance Opportunities

Each year, I host three large, family-friendly student concerts. These are not your typical recitals. Instead, they replicate the experience of professional musicians, complete with pro audio, lights, and the real challenges of live performance.

I provide a relaxed, supportive environment on a big stage that could feel intimidating. Every student is encouraged to perform but never required to. Vocal students can choose to sing with a professional 5-piece band—featuring me, my husband, and other skilled musicians—or with just me providing piano accompaniment.

These concerts offer a stress-free way to build confidence, overcome fear, and create lifelong memories.

What Others Have to Say

I’ve never been one to boast about my character, impact, or accomplishments, so I encourage you to explore my reviews, which reflect firsthand experiences from students, parents, and supporters. These reviews genuinely convey my heart, methodology, skillset, and legacy.
